College of Criminal Justice Education
Central Visayas Polytechnic College, the former name of Negros Oriental State University offered Associate in Criminology on June 1992 and was later changed into Bachelor of Science in Criminology on 1996. This program aspires to instil among students the value of leadership, dedication to one’s service for the country through holistic criminology education. Due to its consistency in providing topnotchers within the previous years, the department was accredited first level by the Accrediting Agency of Charted Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (ACCUP). Presently, the college is still on its drive for academic competitiveness in producing graduates who can lead a peaceful and orderly nation.
College of Agriculture and Forestry
Agriculture and Forestry are sources of environmental, economic and social values in the society, with these, the programs being offered by our College helps and prepare the students to be experts in the field they have chosen and be able to work on complex situation that they may encounter in reality.
The aim of our College is not just boosting the green life but to inculcate knowledge for the abundance of every student's minds leading into a more productive in planning and decision making towards the progress of environment which the country could best benefit. We provide the students a proper education and various training fields of agriculture. We produce technically competent professionals for we instill to the mind of the students that agriculture is a rewarding enterprise which can provide steady employment, high income and stable livelihood.
The College of Agriculture and Forestry provides scientific and technological education to students for nation building in line with the food production.
The College of Agriculture and Forestry is committed in the development of the technical skills of the students in various fields in agriculture and forestry; making them agents of change playing central roles in bringing higher productivity and food security of the country.
Develop the scientific, practical effective and competent agriculturist and forester who can solve the disparity in food and basic needs vis-a-vis population in the country.
The Agriculture Technology was first offered in the College of Technician Education (CTE). In 1995, Bachelor of Agricultural Technology and Bachelor of Science in Forestry were offered in the College of Arts and Sciences. But on the second semester of 1998, Dr. Vinancia Olasiman (the current Dean of CAF) submitted the proposal to the Planning, Research, Extension and International, Linkages (PREXIL) office creating a College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF).
In January 1999, the Board of Trustees (BOT) approved the proposal and the College occupied few rooms at the third floor of the Engineering building in Bajumpandan Campus. In the year 1999-2000, the College moved to where it is now.
College of Engineering and Architecture
College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) is considered as one of the prides of Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) as they consistently got a 100% passing rate in the board and licensure examinations. The College let the students acquire innovative minds and make them fully equipped on sailing the vast ocean in the real world.
The College of Engineering and Architecture commits to the preparation of highly-trained engineers and architects to become active leaders in their chosen fields of specialization and promote scientific and technological innovations for the improvement of life and the environment.
The College of Engineering and Architecture in Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) opened on June 1994 and was housed at the third floor of the College of Technician Education building with ten faculty members. The College initially offered six Bachelor of Science degrees namely, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Geothermal Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. In 1995, the Geodetic Engineering programmed was introduced and in 1997, the Computer Engineering was offered.
In 1998, the College transferred to a brand new three storey building located in Brgy. Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City was later named Main Campus II.
