Research Ethics Clearance Process

Follow the NORSU Research Ethics Committee process from the initial Letter of Intent through the issuance or release of Research Ethics Clearance.

Letter of Intent & Initial Form

Visit the NORSU-REC office, submit the Letter of Intent, and accomplish the initial form.

Application & Requirements

The REC Secretary provides the application and list of required documents. Complete the application, research protocol, and supporting requirements.

Assignment for Review

The Ethics Chair reviews the proposal or assigns it to an appropriate committee member for review.

Review Process

The review is conducted within a maximum of seven (7) working days, excluding holidays and weekends.

Communication of Results

The REC Secretary communicates the results of the ethics review to the researcher.

Submission of Revisions

When revisions are required, the researcher submits the revised documents for further review.

Final Review & Verification

The Ethics Chair conducts the final review and verifies compliance with the required revisions.

Clearance

Upon completion of the process, the Research Ethics Clearance is issued or released.
