Author Guidelines

The journal observes the 6th Edition of the American Psychological Association (APA) publication guidelines. Only papers with complete sections as specified by APA shall be accepted. Papers that have not been formatted according to APA guidelines and have severe grammar inconsistencies may be rejected or returned to the author/s for appropriate revisions. Please send an email to rexilnorsu@gmail.com for queries on the specific contents of a paper. Generally, empirical papers should contain an abstract, introduction (with sufficient review of literature), methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion sections. Theoretical papers and reviews should follow the common conventions in writing these types of papers (see APA, 6th Edition; succeeding volumes shall use APA 7th Edition).

2. All papers must not exceed 7000 words, excluding the references, notes, figures, and tables, and all pages must be numbered consecutively. Abstracts must be about 150 words. And include not more than 6 keywords after the abstract.
3. To observe the blind review process, manuscripts must be anonymized by deleting the author/s’ names, affiliations, acknowledgement, and any other portions of the manuscript that could identify the author/s.
4. The manuscript must be single-spaced, 12-point font (Calibri or Arial), and in one column; all tables and figures must be within the text not at the end of the manuscript; and the manuscript must be submitted in editable Microsoft Word file.
5. Spell out acronyms or unfamiliar abbreviations when these are mentioned for the first time in the text.
6. Use the equation editor in writing mathematical equations.

Publication Ethical Responsibilities

Self-plagiarism, and all forms of plagiarism whether intended or unintended, are not acceptable. It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that submitted and published papers are free from plagiarized materials. Other works must be properly cited in the text. Authors must secure permission and submit evidence of such permission in publishing tables, graphs, or texts that have already been published in any format. The authors understand that the journal does not incur any liability (civil or criminal) arising from failure to follow this guideline, and the authors bear the sole responsibility for such.

Papers submitted to the journal must not have been published elsewhere or is simultaneously submitted to or currently under consideration in another journal. All authors of a single paper must have agreed to submit the paper to the journal and have agreed on the authorship of the paper and the responsibilities attached to it. Most importantly, authors must not fabricate their data.

The editorial board reserves the right to investigate any publication misconduct in the journal, following the guidelines set by University Publication Ethics Committee (UPEC). If found guilty beyond reasonable doubt,

• The submitted paper shall be rejected and returned to the author;
• An erratum will be published for published papers, or these papers be retracted; and/
  or
• The direct supervisor and agency head of the author/s will be informed of such misconduct.
