Scholarship Programs


NORSU provides the students with several scholarship opportunities under the NORSU Scholarship Programs. The student will have to personally apply and complete the requirements to avail of this privilege. The NORSU Scholarship Board will select and determine the final recipients of the scholarship awards.

GOALS

The NORSU Scholarship Programs aim to Stimulate and entice talented Filipino youths to pursue lifetime productive careers and ensure a steady, adequate supply of qualified human resources which can steer the country towards national progress.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for the scholarship programs, you must:

1. Be a Filipino citizen and not have dual citizenships;

2. Have good mental and physical health;

3. Be a good moral character;

4. Not have any pending application for resident/immigrant status in
the USA or any other country;

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

You must have an annual family gross income which must not exceed the poverty line set by NEDA. Moreover, your socio-economic status should not exceed the set values of certain scholarship program to be determined during the application process.

Requirements for Scholarship Application

1. FORM 138 (High School Report Card)

2. GOOD MORAL CERTIFICATE

3. NSO Birth Certificate

4. Income Tax Return (ITR)

5. Personal Data Sheet (Available @ CARE Center)

6. One 2x2 picture

7. Long Brown Envelop with Full name at the back

Final selection of awardees to the different programs shall be based
on either of the following:

a) You are a qualifier of the NORSU ADMISSION TEST; or

b) Your grades satisfy the program requirements;

c) Interview criteria.

ENJOYMENT OF ANY OTHER SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

You can NOT ENJOY other scholarship awards that can interfere with your contractual obligation under your Scholarship Grant.

DEFERMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP

Request for deferment must be done in writing.

You may be allowed to defer your scholarship slot for a maximum period of one (1) academic year.

If you fail to enroll in a prescribed course/identified school after a year, you automatically forfeit your scholarship slot.

SCHOLARSHIP OBLIGATIONS

If you fail to enroll in a prescribed course/identified school after a year, you automatically forfeit your scholarship slot.

Along with the scholarship privileges, come certain duties and obligations.

1. You must know these scholarships policies by heart;

2. You must know/comply with the grade requirements at all times;

3. Attend Scholarship semestral and annual activities regularly; and

4. You must enroll in the regular academic load for each
semester/term as prescribed in your curriculum program;

5. You must submit the following reports as required promptly.

TERMINATION OF SCHOLARSHIP

The University reserves the right to terminate your scholarship if the student fail to maintain the grade requirements of the award or fail to comply with any of the terms and conditions of the Scholarship Agreement.
