The URID-R occurs every year to evaluate different research and proposals from faculty and students for funding from the university. The goal is to speed up and enhance NORSU's research and innovation output. Afterwards, all selected submissions must be approved by the university president once the criteria established by the RIDE Office have been met.

Every faculty member and student had a three-minute time slot to present their proposal, which was assessed by research evaluators, budget and accounting representatives, and a GAD representative if relevant to gender and development. The activity took place at ST AVR, CIT AVR, and CAS AVR, all at the same time within the university.
