The Negros Oriental State University President, Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi, shared three hindrances to success in his message during the Information Education Campaign on September 26, 2024, conducted by the Department of Energy Head Office in collaboration with NORSU Affiliated Renewable Energy Center (AREC).
Dr. Yasi emphasized that Comfort Zone, Learned Helplessness, and Resistance to Change can hinder success. He encouraged the students present to learn to struggle, develop positivity, confidence in oneself, and resilience to change. "Those who succeed in this world are the ones who adapt well." Pres. Yasi quoted. The President expressed pride for NORSU to be one of the first universities that offered a Geothermal college program.
The major topics discussed by the first DOE representative, Engr.Alpres Russel Bustillo, were the overview and mandate of the agency and the different bureaus and offices scattered across the country. He invited the engineering participants to join the organization after finishing their degrees.
The recent Information and Education Campaign conducted at Manhattan Suites, Dumaguete City, is part of the NORSU AREC Project headed by its Director, Engr. Josef Vill Villanueva. Other DOE representatives present were Engineers Aaron Fider, Karoline De Vera and John Jomari Garcia.
