The Regional Quality Assurance Team Evaluation (RQAT) and Student Affairs and Services (SAS) monitoring conducted an on-site visit at Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) Main Campus on November 12-13, 2024.
The exercise of conducting on-site evaluations and inspections aligns with the guidelines of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to assess applications for Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC).
University key officials, deans, and chairpersons from various programs, along with faculty members and non-teaching personnel, prepared for the visit. The completed self-assessment instrument for each program and the SAS instrument were presented in the NORSU Library Conference Room for review.
CHEDRO VI Director Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, Jr. emphasized during the opening program the importance of ensuring quality education that complies with environmental standards and integrates sustainable technologies: "We need to work on this; you are the only hope for the poorest of the poor and the deserving students of Negros Oriental."
"On behalf of Commissioner Agrupis, she expresses her support for you; she is willing to collaborate and provide you with all the resources you need for your programs," Alvarez added.
After the inspection and evaluation process, a post-conference was held, where the Education Supervisors provided their feedback regarding the results of the evaluation.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi, University President, reached out to everyone concerned, stating, "Let us help in complying with all of this because it is already mandated."
One of the strategies he mentioned for compliance is to offer lateral positions or higher positions for faculty and staff with their assistance and cooperation.
