Happening now at the ST AVR, the first day of the University Futures and Strategic Foresight toward World Ranking Initiatives Phase 2 has commenced. This training is spearheaded by Dr. Ryan Tayco, Director of the Planning and Development Office.

Participants were greeted with a welcoming message from the University President, Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi. Following this is the Departmental Leadership Alignment Session, led by Dr. Adrian Ybañez, VP for Research and Development at Cebu Technological University.

Following the completion of University Futures and Strategic Foresight towards World Ranking Initiatives Phase 1 last October, Phase 2 was successfully conducted as well on December 10-11, 2024.

The purpose of Phase 2 was to implement strategic foresight activities, particularly by creating and submitting a comprehensive application for an innovation-centered global ranking.

Participants of the training presented their university's innovative programs and were evaluated by Dr. Adrian Ybanez, VP for Research and Development at Cebu Technological University, the resource speaker and trainer for the training. During his discussion, Ybanez stated that when creating a project, there are two options: (1) high impact, which can aid in professional development, and (2) corporate social responsibility (CSR), which involves operating in an ethical, socially responsible manner. Hence, "it is important to know the type of niche that can help your innovation," he remarked.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Craig Refugio, Director of International Relations, encouraged everyone who had presented to submit their final outputs. "Without your submission, we will never be ranked, and we will not be able to realize the new vision of NORSU."
