University President Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi believes that the Public-Private Partnership (PPP), a Future-Thinking Approach to Strategic Partnerships, is one effective strategy for the university. "Regardless of what happens to the final version of the budget (as per Senate deliberation), we have the PPP as a resort to achieve and fulfill our future plans," said Dr. Yasi during his opening message for the two-day orientation held at the NORSU Library Conference Hall on December 17-18, 2024.
The guest speakers were from the PPP Center: Mr. Agape Sem Comendador, Ms. Lavilla Dauag, and Ms. Kyle Angela Anibigno, who discussed the Philippine PPP Program, an Overview of the PPP Code and its IRR, PPP Project Identification, Prioritization, and Screening, and the Ways Forward and Next Steps, respectively.
The PPP is a long-term agreement between a government and a private company to provide a service or project typically managed by the government. The orientation aims to provide NORSU key stakeholders with an in-depth understanding of the PPP framework, its rules and regulations for implementation, and its application regarding the university’s long-term objectives. Additionally, it will focus on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Code and its role in institutional growth and development.
