The inauguration of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office for the Negros Island Region (NIR) took place today, December 18, at Negros Oriental State University (NORSU).

The inauguration was marked by a blessing, followed by the Holy Mass led by Rev. Fr. Eugene D. Lucerna II, Ph.D., RGC, RPsy.

The event was attended by CHED Regional Director for NIR Dr. Raul Alvarez, NORSU University President Dr. Noel Marjon Yasi, VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Rose Marie Pinili, heads of offices, deans, and presidents from various state universities, colleges, and private universities.

The office, whose jurisdiction includes state universities and colleges in Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, and Siquijor, is located on the ground floor of the CBA Building, formerly the Practice House and IGP office.
