Negros Oriental State University — Office of Curriculum and Instruction hosted a Seminar-Workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Course Syllabi Writing today, October 24, 2025, at the University Library. Participated by the Chairpersons of the different Graduate Programs of the university, the event focused on instructional alignment and course syllabus crafting.
The attendees were cordially welcomed by the Campus Director, Dr. Ryan O. Tayco. Dr. Chizanne S. Larena, Dean, Graduate School and Dr. Libertine C. De Guzman, VP for Academic Affairs, shared their insights and messages, emphasizing the importance of aligning instructional practices with institutional goals.
The core lecture "Institutional to Instructional Alignment: On Crafting an OBE Course Syllabi was presented by Dr. Ralph A. Cardeno, Director of Curriculum and Instruction. The session provided the essential knowledge base for understanding and applying the principles of OBE in syllabus design.
Immediately following the lecture, the participants engaged in a Course Syllabi Writing Workshop by Programs. This was followed by Course Syllabi Output Presentation by Selected Programs and Critiquing.
