Negros Oriental State University inked a partnership with the Global Initiative for Exchange and Development Inc. through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) yesterday, January 30, in the University Board Room. Dr. Marjon E. Yasi, University President, and Rhenelyn Queen P. Dadulo, GEID President and CEO, represented their respective organizations.
The signed agreement seeks to establish a collaborative partnership between the two parties to promote and enhance the practice of volunteerism as a means to achieve national development and global awareness, as specified in Republic Act 9418.
The agreement's scope regarding activities includes: (1) joint benefits and optimization of volunteerism for development, (2) GEID facilitating the promotion, recruitment, and development of both international and Filipino participants for international and/or local voluntary service, and (3) volunteers providing support for various social development services of NORSU.
