Negros Oriental State University College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NORSU CTHM) celebrated the culmination of its Community Advancement, Resilience, and Empowerment through Skills, Sustainability, and Social Outreach (CARES) extension program today, August 8, 2005, at the NORSU ST AVR. With the theme: Empowering Culinary and Hospitality Workforce: Community-Based Competency and Skills Enhancement Program for Food and Beverage Employees in Negros Oriental, the event was attended by members of the Negros Oriental Hotel, Resort, and Restaurant Association Inc. (NOHRRA), NORSU key officials, and the CTHM faculty.
Prof. Ma. Leroz Rizada, CARES Project Leader, welcomed the attendees and presented the project overview.
Representatives from Southview Hotel and Sans Rival shared their testimonies as beneficiaries of the extension program.
The project accomplishments were delivered by the Assistant Extension Coordinator, Prof. Helen Cabije.
In his inspiring message, University President Noel Marjon E. Yasi highlighted the relevance of integrating AI, technologies , and jobs that are uniquely human.
Ms. Royani S. Dy, NOHRRA President, expressed her gratitude for the NORSU CTHM and NOHRRA collaboration, which benefits not just the institution but the entire community.
The awarding of certificates and photo opportunities followed thereafter. To close the program, Assistant Dean Dr. Pirl Enquilino encouraged everyone to press forward for a stronger, more resilient, empowered hospitality community in Negros Oriental.
