The Opening Program of the 35th Library and Information Services Month, with the theme “Libraries: A Hub for Cultural Exploration and Unity through Partnership,” was highlighted by a parade within the campus and the Portrayal and Presentation of Book Character Dress-Up participated in by students and library staff.
In her recorded message, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Libertine C. De Guzman emphasized the importance of the library—not just as a place of silence, but as the beating heart of learning and a bridge toward a future full of understanding. She commended the work of librarians and staff, calling them the “unsung heroes of knowledge and guardians of intellectual treasures.”
The competition among participants who portrayed various book characters added color and fun to the celebration.
The event was spearheaded by Dr. Colette O. Abequibel, University Librarian, Dr. Jolo Van Clyde S. Abatayo, Digital Services Librarian, Ms.Elisha Mae J.Manalo, Reader's Services Librarian, Ms.Cendi F. Enolpe and the library staff.
