The first information, education and communication campaign on the theme "Eco Quest: Journey to Renewable Awareness" was organized by the Negros Oriental State University Affiliated Renewable Energy Center (AREC) on June 20, 2024 at NORSU CEA AVR, Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City. Engr. Ferdinand Binondo, Chief of Solar & Wind Energy Management at the Department of Energy, discussed the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 in his presentation. Mr. Daniel Cristituta gave the second lecture, showcasing the NEXDAN Solar Solutions product.
The Progress Report was presented by Engr. Allia Tuboro from NORSU AREC. An Open Forum followed where attendees were able to interact with the guest lecturers. The said event was led by Engr.Josef Vill Villanueva, the AREC Director. Geothermal Engineering students and faculty members from the College of Industrial Technology and College of Engineering and Architecture were in attendance at the said event.
