Negros Oriental State University, in partnership with the Philippine Competition Commission, conducted an information drive on the Philippine Competition Act, known as Republic Act No.10667, for the different Local Government Units and partner institutions on July 24, 2024. at the University Library Conference Hall. The said law, enacted in 2015, is the country's primary competition law. University President Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi, Dr. Dee Laila Buhian, Director of the University Enterprise Development, Dr. Benjamin Villagonzalo, Department Chair of the College of Business Administration, along with faculty member Dr. Lovely R. Tinguha, were in attendance. Executive Director of the Philippine Competition Commission, Dr. Kenneth V. Tanate, gave his message through a recorded video, while PCC representative Inah Geneve T. delivered a message. Representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Local Government Units (LGU) of Bacong, Sibulan, Manjuyod, Ayungon, Mabinay, Bayawan City, Jimalalud, Pamplona, Vallehermoso, Dumaguete, Santa Catalina, Tanjay, Siaton, Guihulngan City, Valencia, Bindoy, and Canlaon City were also present.
