Negros Oriental State University entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) today, September 3, 2024. Both parties agree to develop activities of mutual interest, based on equality and reciprocity: Instruction (Face to Face, Virtual/Remote), Research Collaboration, Student internships, Extension Services, and other activities as mutually agreed. Representing NORSU were Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Merivic G. Catada, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Development, and Extension (RIDE) Dr. Edwin F. Romano, and Director of the Office of International Linkages Dr. Craig N. Refugio, along with deans and different campus administrators. Representing PHIVOLCS was Director IV, DOST-PHIVOLCS, Dr. Terisito C. Bacolcol.
