Negros Oriental High School (NOHS) claimed victory among 13 competing schools in the inaugural ChemClash: Inter-School Chemistry Quiz Bowl conducted at Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) CIT AVR today, December 13, 2024.

NOHS achieved a total of 38 points, securing the championship title, with Siquijor Provincial Science High School as the 1st runner-up, obtaining a total of 33 points, and Junob National High School as the 2nd runner-up, acquiring a total of 25 points.

Other participating schools include Santa Catalina Science High School, Manjuyod Science High School, Bayawan City Science and Technology Education Center, Bayawan National High School, Sibulan Science High School, Ayungon Science High School, Dumaguete City National High School, Zamboanguita Science High School, Mabinay Science High School, and Siaton Science High School.

The Department of Chemistry at NORSU, led by Prof. Delfin G. Mahinay,Jr. , organized this activity.

Dr. Edwin F. Romano, Jr., Vice President for Research, Innovation, Development, and Extension, expresses gratitude to all who participated in this important event of the Chemistry Department. Furthermore, he wishes for an increase in the number of participants in the future who will be joining in the mentioned activity.
