Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cebu Normal University (CNU) today, February 27, at the Office of the University International Relations. Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi, NORSU President, and Dr. Daniel Ariaso Sr., CNU President, represented their respective institutions.
The signed MOU aims to develop academic cooperation in the Master of Arts in Education, majoring in Filipino, with the goal of promoting mutual understanding and collaboration between the two universities.
The partnership will focus on the following activities in academic areas of mutual interest based on equality and reciprocity: 1) developing partnerships in extension programs related to languages, education, teaching, translation, arts, and literature; 2) collaborating on research projects; 3) working together on various culminating activities; 4) engaging in conferences, seminars, webinars, symposiums, paper presentations, and other events hosted by either party.
Also present to witness the signing were Dr. Chizanne S. Larena, Dean of the Graduate School; Dr. Edwin F. Romano Jr., Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension; Dr. Libertine C. De Guzman, Dean of the College of Teacher Education; and Dr. Genara Pacaña, CNU OIC Tech/Voc National Certification Training and Assessment Center.
