Negros Oriental State University hosted the 1st International Relations Officers Convergence today, May 29, 2025, at the NORSU Science and Technology Audio Visual Room, attended by the Directors of the different Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the Negros Island Region (NIR).
Dr. Raul C. Alvarez Jr., REE, Ed. D. CESO III, Director IV of CHEDRO XVIII NIR, warmly welcomed the guests, highlighting the objective of the commission to internationalize programs of the HEIs.
On behalf of the University President, Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi, the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Merivic G. Catada cordially welcomed the guests. Dr. Catada encouraged everyone to commit and direct all efforts in strengthening collaboration and partnership to contribute to the development and progress of the community.
The CHED Internationalization (IZN) Indicators Matrix was discussed by Dr. Danabeth G. Narzoles, OIC, Chief Education Program Specialist/Internationalizational Focal.

Dr. Carlyn M. Delapeña, Chief Education Program Specialist, presented the rationale for the establishment of the IRO council and facilitated the election of officers.
