Negros Oriental State University was recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region XVIII-NIR in the 1st Regional Quality Awards today, May 30, 2025, at the Luce Auditorium, Silliman University.

With the theme, "Higher Heights in Higher Education", the Certificate of Recognition was awarded in celebration of the 5th National Higher Education Day and CHED's 31st Founding Anniversary.

On behalf of the University President, Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi, Dr. Merivic G. Catada, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Rose Marie T. Pinili, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Cesar P. Estrope, Acting Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, received six prestigious awards for NORSU:

1. Recognition for the Provision of Support to CHEDRO XVIII's Endeavors
2. Rank 1 Top Performing School in the November 2024 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination
3. Ranked 5 Top Performing Schools in the November 2024 Pharmacists Licensure Examination
4. Ranked 7 Top Performing Schools in the April 2025 Licensure Examination for Midwives
5. CHED Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAP)
6. Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA)
