Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) received the Certificate of Turnover for the Technology Package on the Composting Facility for Biodegradable Wastes (CFBW) today, October 29, 2025, at the University Board Room. This certificate was awarded by the Department of Agriculture (DA) through the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM).
The package includes a Rotary Composter and a Biomass Shredder Machine. This initiative directly supports the DA and BSWM's agenda to enhance soil health through the sustainable production of compost and organic fertilizer. The CFBW is now located at both NORSU Main Campus II (Bajumpandan) and NORSU Pamplona.
Representing NORSU were University President Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi, along with Dr. Merivic G. Catada, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Edwin F. Romano Jr., Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, and Mr. Julius M. Ausejo, Director for Buildings and Grounds. Mr. Hilarion B. Reños, Project Assistant III, represented the BSWM.
