A Seminar on Quantitative and Qualitative Methods," was held today, November 15, 2025, at the Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) Main, Campus I - ST AVR. The event, organized by the Research Method in Public Management Graduate School students of Dr. Ryan O. Tayco, provided a comprehensive overview of fundamental research methodologies.

The attendees were warmly welcomed by the Dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Chizanne S. Larena. Mr. Tirso Neri Padilla, Class representative, delivered the Rationale of the Seminar. An inspirational message was shared by Dr. Edwin F. Romano Jr., the Vice-President for Research Development & Extension, highlighting the university's commitment to research excellence.

The core of the seminar involved lectures from two distinguished resource speakers who shared their expertise in research methods. First Lecture: The first speaker, Dr. Dionisio Battad, a DOST Balik Scientist, delivered a lecture on Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing.

Second Lecture: Dr. Alana Leilani T. Cabrera Narciso, Dean, College of Arts and Sciences, Silliman University presented the second lecture. The lecture focused on the Qualitative Research Method.

An Open Forum followed thereafter, allowing attendees to seek clarifications and engage in dialogue with the speakers. The event concluded with the Awarding of Certificates to the Resource Speakers and the Closing Remarks delivered by Dr. Ryan O. Tayco, Campus Director and RES 602 Professor, who commended the successful event.

The successful seminar is a testament to the dedication of the Research Method in Public Management Graduate School students and their commitment to advancing research literacy within the academic community.
