The Four-in-One Tractor-Mounted Implement was granted patent protection on June 30, 2025 by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). The patent is attributed to its inventors: Dr. Francis M. Galon and Dr. Donato D. Gabay, faculty members of the College of Agriculture and Forestry, and Dr. Rogelio R. Cordero, faculty member of the College of Industrial Technology— all from Negros Oriental State University, Bayawan–Sta. Catalina Campus, Bayawan City.
This innovative implement is a multi-purpose farm attachment engineered to streamline agricultural operations by combining four essential functions into a single unit. When mounted on a tractor, it serves as a field planer, harrower, pulverizer, and transporter of farm produce. Its versatility enables farmers to minimize labor requirements, reduce field preparation time, and lower operational costs, making it a practical solution for smallholder and commercial farms alike.
The granting of the patent by IPOPHL affirms the novelty and technical merit of the invention. Today, the implement stands as one of the major equipment used by the College of Agriculture and Forestry, supporting instruction, research, and extension activities. It represents the University’s strong commitment to advancing agricultural mechanization through locally developed, cost-efficient, and farmer-responsive technologies, and highlights the collaborative innovation efforts of its faculty.
