In the recent Seminar-Workshop organized by the Philippine Association of Records Officers and Archivists (PAROA) on Government Records Management, titled “Strengthening Government Records Management Program: Core Functions and Strategic Best Practices,” Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) sent five representatives to participate in the training. The attendees were: Dr. Dee Laila C. Buhian, Acting Human Resource Management and Development Officer; Mr. Lanvin Rey N. Calugcugan, Administrative Officer V and Designated Head of the Records Management Unit; Ms. Mirasol S. Gaitan, Records Officer III; Ms. Marie Cris B. Catubig, Administrative Officer IV; and Ms. Jhonna Aine M. Corale of the Budget Office.
Held from December 3 to 5, 2025 at the Crown Legacy Hotel in Baguio City, the workshop was designed for government personnel engaged in records management. It aims to equip participants with essential knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to develop, strengthen, and sustain a robust and future-ready Records Management Program (RMP).
Its key objectives include deepening the participants’ understanding of core records management functions, introducing best practices and practical tools for public records handling, enhancing good governance through effective records management, and addressing current challenges to ensure compliance with national standards.
The attendees are grateful for the university administration headed by President Noel Marjon E.Yasi for the continued support for continuous professional development.
