NORSU was recognized as a top-performing school in Negros Oriental during the Oath-Taking Ceremony for newly licensed nurses on February 14, 2026, at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium, Silliman University.

Negros Oriental State University was recognized as one of the top-performing schools in Negros Oriental during the Oath-Taking Ceremony for newly licensed nurses held earlier today, February 14, 2026, at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium, Silliman University.

University President Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi received the Certificate of Recognition together with Dr. Christine dela Peña, Dean of the College of Nursing, Pharmacy, and Allied Health Sciences (CNPAHS). The award was presented by Hon. Josefina Tuazon, member of the Professional Regulatory Board of Nursing, together with Hon. Narcival Randie Taquiqui of the Professional Regulation Commission Region VII and Hon. Rozzano Gregorio Ramon Agustin C. Locsin, President of the PNA Negros Oriental Chapter.

The recognition was awarded by the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA), through the Philippine Nurses Association of Negros Oriental, acknowledging the University’s outstanding academic excellence and contribution to the nursing profession.

During the oath-taking ceremony facilitated by Hon. Tuazon, topnotchers of the latest licensure examination were also recognized. The new nurses from Foundation University, Negros Oriental State University, Silliman University, and St. Paul University Dumaguete were joined by other graduates from various schools in Mindanao, Cebu, Negros Occidental, and Iloilo.

Other attendees included deans from different colleges and universities, faculty members, and parents.
