NORSU is represented at the three-day CHED RAISE 2026 Summit, “Responding through AI for Societal Empowerment,” held February 25–27, 2026, at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City.

Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) is represented at the three-day CHED RAISE 2026 Summit titled “Responding through AI for Societal Empowerment” at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City from February 25 to 27, 2026.

NORSU Computer Science and Information Technology students Biance Cruz, Owen Estrera, Clint Estrellanes, Richard Timosa II, and Jervine Alvarico, together with Dr. Ryan Escorial, Department Chair of CSIT, and Japhet Fulmaran, Program Chair of BS Computer Science, presented two innovative startups during the summit. The representatives are joined by NORSU President Noel Marjon E.Yasi.

TaskBuddy, formerly known as TasksomeBuddy, is a community-driven mobile application that connects individuals who need assistance with those seeking flexible income opportunities.

NORSU was recognized as a regional finalist in the Philippine Startup Challenge 9 in 2024, with Biance, Owen, and Clint serving as pitchers and developers under the mentorship of Ted Tamparong.

Presko is a newly established AgriTech web application. The platform enables users to manage inventory, monitor expiration dates, receive real-time alerts, and identify nearby suppliers within a single integrated system.

The CHED RAISE Summit 2026 is a three-day national gathering that brings together educators, innovators, government leaders, and industry partners from across the country. The event is positioned as a higher education forum that explores how AI can be responsibly integrated into teaching, learning, research, and community engagement in colleges and universities.
