Mga Istorya sa Buglas: Creative Works Workshop Series is being conducted today, at Rovira Suites, Bantayan, Dumaguete City. The workshop is spearheaded by the Creative Works Unit of Negros Oriental State University under the Research, Development and Extension (RDE) Office, headed by Vice President Edwin Romano and University Research and Development Director Dr. Benjamin Villagonzalo, Jr.

The first workshop is scheduled on March 11–12, 2026, with faculty and student participants from NORSU Bayawan–Sta. Catalina Campus, Siaton, Mabinay, Bais, and Guihulngan.

RDE Creative Works Unit Head Ann Beverly C. Verbosidad welcomed everyone and delivered a short message at the start of the workshop. According to her, this is a workshop series scheduled from March to October 2026.

Today’s speaker is Mr. Ian R. Casocot, an award-winning writer, author, and faculty member of Silliman University. He commended NORSU for actively supporting Dumaguete as a UNESCO City of Literature.

This university- wide workshop with the full support of University President Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi, aims to foster local writing, literary arts, and cultural initiatives.
