The Negros Oriental State University Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) Office is conducting today, March 11, 2026, the Research Agenda Crafting Activity at Tiptop Hotel, Dumaguete City.

The resource speaker of the activity is Dr. Franco G. Teves, Professor Emeritus and former Director for Research of Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology.

The objectives of the activity are as follows:
a) Identify priority research areas aligned with the University’s mandate
b) Integrate emerging trends and societal needs into research planning
c) Strengthen collaboration across disciplines and campuses
d) Establish a strategic and sustainable research framework

This initiative aims to develop a responsive, relevant, and forward-looking research agenda that aligns with institutional priorities, national development goals, and emerging global challenges. Through collaborative discussions and expert insights, participants will help shape the University’s research directions to ensure impactful, innovative, and multidisciplinary outputs.

In attendance are Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Merivic G. Catada, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Libertine C. De Guzman, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension Dr. Edwin F. Romano, Jr., campus directors, and NORSU research and center directors.

Also present are officials and representatives of partner agencies and stakeholders from the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Agriculture, Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority, and the National Museum.
