Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) marked a major infrastructure milestone today, March 18, 2026, with the formal turnover and symbolic energization of the Rehabilitation of Power Distribution System for Main Campus II.
The ceremony, held at the Bajumpandan campus, signifies the university’s commitment to providing a safe, reliable, and modern learning environment. The project is designed to strengthen electrical infrastructure, enhance operational safety, and ensure a consistent power supply for the academic community.
The guests were cordially welcomed by the Campus Director, Dr. Ryan O. Tayco, followed by a comprehensive project overview from Engr. Christopher B. Patrimonio, Director of the Project Management Office. Engr. Patrimonio highlighted the technical scope and the successful accomplishments achieved during the rehabilitation process.
Engr. Perry Loo of PVL Construction expressed pride in delivering quality infrastructure to the university.
Dr. Merivic G. Catada, VP for Administration and Finance, emphasized the importance of these upgrades in supporting the university’s long-term development goals.
The highlight of the morning was the Message of Acceptance delivered by University President Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi. The formal turnover ceremony took place thereafter, involving the signing of the Certificate of Completion and the Certificate of Acceptance.
The transition from construction to operation was finalized through a Symbolic Turnover of Documents between the university officials and PVL Construction.
The University President and key officials proceeded to the designated control area for the Symbolic Energization.
The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Ar. Jason B. Ijan, who thanked everyone for their presence.
