A CHED-Facilitated Curriculum Revision Workshop was conducted today, March 24, 2026, at the University Library Conference Room, with deans, campus directors, and curriculum specialists in attendance.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Libertine C. de Guzman emphasized that the activity is vital in preparing for the implementation of revised curricula effective Academic Year 2026–2027. She noted that the initiative reinforces the institution’s commitment to ensuring that academic programs remain relevant, responsive, and aligned with national and global standards.

Dr. de Guzman also underscored the crucial role of the curriculum in shaping students’ learning experiences, critical thinking, and readiness to contribute meaningfully to society.

Dr. Benrie James B. Nufable, Supervising Education Program Specialist, introduced the CHED facilitators from different programs. He said that the Commission on Higher Education–Negros Island Region appreciates NORSU’s commitment to excellence.

Meanwhile, Dr. Danebeth Narzoles, Chief Education Program Specialist of CHED Regional Office VI, highlighted that the workshop focuses on key areas, including developing inclusive, quality, and relevant curricula; understanding the importance of curriculum review; and examining sample curriculum review frameworks. CHEDRO XVIII- NIR Regional Director IV Dr. Raul C. Alvarez in his message is grateful to NORSU for working with the commission to ensure equality higher education.

The workshop supports the Commission’s thrust of promoting inclusive, quality, and relevant education.

Dr.Ralph A.Cardeño, Director for the Office of the Curriculum and Instruction, formally closed the one-day workshop review, expressing gratitude to RD Alvarez for his visionary leadership and steadfast dedication to ensure that curricular programs are responsive to national policies, globally attuned and anchored in the principles of outcomes based education.
