Negros Oriental State University participated in the virtual celebration of World Water Day 2026, in collaboration with Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U), Iloilo City, held on March 24, 2026.
NORSU presenters were Catherine S. Arias, together with Thea Clarice A. Batalan and Joericks C. Vicente, under the advisorship of Engr. Winston B. Gomez from the College of Engineering and Architecture.
The presentation, delivered via Zoom, was titled “Implementation of a Ram Pump for Sustainable Water Access in a Specific Area: A Case Study in Barangay Malabuhan, Siaton, Negros Oriental.” This year’s theme was “Droplets of Change: Inspiring Stories of Water Conservation in Schools Around the World.”
Joining the team during the presentation was Dr. Benjamin Villagonzalo, Jr., Director of the University Research and Development Office.
The celebration aimed to raise awareness of water sustainability and highlight best practices in water conservation within educational institutions.
