Graduating students of the Biology Department recently presented their respective undergraduate thesis in both oral and poster categories in Bio Research Forum held at Silliman University on March 19-20, 2026, and in a Joint International Conference held at Central Bicol State University of Agriculture in Pili, Camarines Sur on March 18-21, 2026.
The 10th Bio Research Forum, hosted by Silliman University and guided by the theme “A Decade of Discovery: Advancing Biological Frontiers through Student Research,” was held on March 20, 2026, at the Silliman University Multipurpose Room. Crystal Mae R. Santos, representing the team, presented their thesis entitled “Isolation and Screening of Extracellular Enzymes of Endophytic Fungi from Different Beach Plant Species.” In the same event, Kim Jasper N. Busico, representing his team, presented their work through a poster presentation entitled “Species Listing of Terrestrial Beetles in Negros Oriental.”
On a separate event, Donita Faith P. Sabejon, on behalf of the team, delivered an oral presentation of their thesis paper entitled, "Species Inventory of Dragonflies in Selected Riverine Riparian Habitats in Siaton, Amlan, and Bindoy, Negros Oriental" in the 7th International Conference on Education, Environment, and Agriculture (ICEEA7) and the 4th International Conference on School-Plus-Home Gardens Cum Biodiversity Enhancement and Enterprises (SHGBEE4) held at Central Bicol State University, Pili, Camarines Sur on March 20, 2026. Anchored on the theme “Policy Pathways to a Sustainable Future: Mainstreaming Biodiversity, Agri/Ecotourism, and Disaster Resilience", this participation was made possible through the support and funding of the Student Development Services (SDS), headed by Julio E. Ventolero MTE, MMM.
