The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) conducted a Heightened Surveillance and Compliance Validation Inspection at the Aviation Department of Negros Oriental State University – College of Industrial Technology from April 21 to 24, 2026, at the NORSU Main Campus II.

The inspection is led by Paul Andrew P. Caabay, Audit Team Leader, together with Jeirome C. Abalos as Team Member. This activity aims to ensure that the Aviation Department maintains compliance with national aviation standards and continuously upholds quality aviation education and training.

The Entry Meeting (Opening Program) was held at the Aviation Laboratory Shop and ST Building, gathering university officials and aviation personnel. Libertine C. De Guzman, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered the welcome remarks, highlighting the university’s commitment to maintaining high standards in aviation education.

The statement of purpose and introduction of the CAAP Audit Team were presented by Shariel C. Bato, Head of Training. This was followed by the introduction of university officials and aviation personnel by Herminio S. Tinguban, Dean of the College of Industrial Technology.

This inspection reflects the strong partnership between CAAP and NORSU in ensuring that aviation programs meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

To conclude the opening program, Paul Andrew P. Caabay, Audit Team Leader, presented the audit plan, outlining the scope and schedule of the inspection activities for the duration of the audit.
