A Bomb Identification and Active Shooter Awareness Seminar was conducted today at the NORSU Main Campus in preparation for the upcoming campus-wide disaster simulation exercises in May 2026.
The seminar was attended by students from the College of Nursing, Pharmacy and Allied Sciences, the College of Criminal Justice, the College of Industrial Technology – Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance, and selected personnel from the University Security Management Office.
The resource speaker, Police Executive Master Sergeant Marcelo Augusto T. Lerio, is from the PNP Regional Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Group. He discussed topics on bomb identification, active shooter awareness and shared tips on how to deal with crisis situations related to bomb and shooting. He also addressed questions from participants during the open forum.
The awareness seminar, initiated by CNPAHS, is part of the Disaster Nursing course under Dr. Girlie M. Odonel, Level IV Coordinator.
