The NORSU College of Teacher Education, led by Dean Dr. Roullette Cordevilla, held the INNOVATEd Classroom-Based Action Research (CBAR) Summit 2026 on April 29, 2026, with participation from graduating students.

The NORSU College of Teacher Education headed by Dr. Roullette Cordevilla, College Dean, conducted the INNOVATEd Classroom- Based Action Research (CBAR) Summit 2026 today, April 29, 2026, participated by senior graduating students under the supervision of Student Teaching Supervisor Prof. Jade Melancio.

Dr. Vincent Banot, CTEd Research Coordinator and Chairperson, Curriculum and Instruction in the opening message, emphasized that the Classroom-Based Action Research Summit highlights how classroom challenges are examined and improved through action research conducted in real teaching contexts. He noted that the event showcases studies where issues are identified, interventions are applied, and outcomes are evaluated to enhance educational practices and promote continuous improvement, affirming educators’ role as researchers and problem-solvers.

Meanwhile, Office of the University International Relations Director, Dr. Craig Refugio explained the rationale of the summit, outlining the key steps in research and stressing that the forum serves as a platform for presenting and disseminating action research findings, which will benefit future students.

College Dean Dr. Roullette Cordevilla inspired the student researchers with her message emphasizing on the significance of first conduct of the Classroom - based Action Research Summit making it a historical turning point for CTED. She added that this is also the first time that the college invited CBAR practitioners from the Department of Education . "This summit signals our commitment to transparency and collaboration, proving that the work we do within the classroom holds profound value far beyond our campus, offering a beacon of hope and practical wisdom to educators everywhere who strive to make a difference", Dr. Cordevilla said.
