In a major step toward expanding educational and community development initiatives, Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) recently held an exploratory meeting with Nature’s Spring Foundation, Inc. (NSFI) today, June 24, 2026, at the Uni Bistro.

The meeting was initiated through an official request from NSF, aiming to bridge corporate social responsibility with academic excellence. Nature’s Spring Foundation, Inc., the corporate social responsibility arm of the Philippine Spring Water Resources, Inc. (PSWRI), sought out the meeting to introduce its core advocacy programs. NSFI is actively committed to empowering and uplifting communities through sustainable education, health and nutrition, environmental conservation, and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) programs.

The primary objective of the meeting was to align NSFI's community initiatives with NORSU’s institutional priorities, paving the way for potential collaborative efforts in education and regional development.

The meeting brought together key administrators and representatives from both institutions.

NORSU was represented by Dr. Cesar P. Estrope, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services; Dr. Ryan O. Tayco, Campus Director; Ms. Sheila May L. Escorial, Scholarship Program Unit Head; and Dr. Josie Rodriguez, NORSU Forestry Instructor.

Representing NSFI were Ms. Proleta N. Gomez, NSFI Executive Director; Ms. Maricar P. Regulacion, NSFI Social Welfare Officer; and Ms. Karina Monika M. Chavez, NSFI Program Officer for Education; and Mr. Ramil Rendal, NSFI Forrester.

With both institutions sharing a mutual focus on student welfare, scholarship opportunities, and environmental sustainability, the dialogue opens up promising avenues for NORSU students.

The potential partnership is expected to yield enhanced scholarship support, community outreach projects, and environmental programs that leverage both the academic expertise of NORSU and the active community framework of NSFI.
