The Negros Oriental State University Records Management Unit successfully concluded its two-day intensive training. The event, titled "Seminar-Workshop on Basic Records and Archives Management (BRAM)," wrapped up its final day on July 2, 2026, leaving participants equipped with vital knowledge to streamline institutional record-keeping and preserve institutional history. Building on the foundational concepts introduced on the first day, the second day shifted toward comprehensive, expert-led training proper and engaging open discussion.
The morning session kicked off with an in-depth training proper led by Mr. Jhonley Joseph L. Item, Records Management Analyst II from the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) Regional Office Cebu. Mr. Item guided participants through the intricate technicalities of effective records analysis and management, providing practical insights crucial for academic and administrative efficiency.
The afternoon session was spearheaded by Mr. Kit P. Toling, Supervising Records Management Analyst II, NAP Regional Office Cebu. Mr. Toling focused on advanced archival management strategies, shedding light on best practices for long-term preservation and compliance. The expertise brought by both NAP regional representatives ensured that the university's personnel received top-tier, standardized training directly aligned with national archiving protocols.
The event drew to a close with an interactive Open Forum, giving participants the opportunity to clarify complex scenarios and share localized challenges. Following the exchange, certificates and tokens of appreciation were presented to the expert speakers.
The seminar-workshop officially concluded with closing remarks delivered by Mr. Lanvin Rey N. Calugcugan, Head of the University Records Management Unit, who commended the participants' engagement and emphasized the long-term impact this training will have on the university's operational excellence.
