Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) received the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards during the Blood Services Stakeholders' Recognition Ceremony held today, July 24, 2026, at the Sierra Hotel in Dumaguete City. The event was organized by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Negros Oriental Chapter.
The recognition honored partner institutions, local government units, corporations, and individual volunteers for their invaluable support of the life-saving blood services and humanitarian programs of the PRC Negros Oriental Chapter.
NORSU received the following awards:
• Gold Award – for donating 286 blood units.
• Silver Award – for 153 blood units donated by the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), Main Campus.
• Bronze Award – for 82 blood units donated by the NORSU 528th Department of Military Science and Tactics, Air Force ROTC.
In addition, Certificates of Recognition were presented to the NORSU Bayawan–Sta. Catalina Campus, NORSU Bayawan–Sta. Catalina CCJE, NORSU Red Cross Youth, DOST NORSU Scholars, and the NORSU 528th Department of Military Science and Tactics, Air Force ROTC as Most Active Organizations for 2025.
The awards were received by Mr. Julio Ventolero, Director for University Student Development Services and NSTP Coordinator, on behalf of NORSU University President Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi. He was joined by Mrs. Rowena Mariño, CCJE faculty member, and John Michael Dela Cruz, ROTC Officer.
Also in attendance were the members of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Red Cross Negros Oriental Chapter, headed by Dr. Henry A. Sojor, together with representatives and officials from various local government units, partner agencies, and stakeholder organizations.
