The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) of Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) conducted its General Orientation Program on July 27, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the NORSU Gymnasium, Main Campus.

The program opened with a welcome message from Dr. Jose Rene A. Cepe, Dean of CCJE, who introduced the college's faculty and staff and discussed the institution's Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives (VMGO), retention policies, and academic regulations, including guidelines on class attendance, absences, and tardiness.

During the orientation, JInsp. Kelcee Heilo A. Alvarez of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), a CCJE alumna, inspired the students by sharing her professional experiences and encouraging them to pursue excellence in the field of criminology.

Dr. Ryan O. Tayco, Campus Director, delivered an inspirational message, encouraging students to align their personal goals with the university's mission and to make the most of their academic experience.

Prof. Dulce De Guzman, presented the NORSU SHINE core values and discussed the campus guidance services available to students.

Dr. John Kevin V. Bangaysiso, explained student discipline policies, standards of conduct, regulations governing student organizations, and requirements for off-campus activities.

Atty. Dan Jerome S. Barrera, discussed selected special laws, particularly the Safe Spaces Act (Republic Act No. 11313), and their relevance to future law enforcement professionals.

Mrs. Jill Rose P. Ador, introduced the university's Gender and Development (GAD) programs and services, promoting gender awareness and inclusivity. Mr. Tirso C. Alas-as, discussed the college's On-the-Job Training (OJT) program, extension services, and other college-related activities.

Mrs. Rowella Marino, highlighted students' rights and responsibilities and facilitated an open forum with Dr. Cepe to address questions from students and parents.

P/Capt. Blas Alpeche, delivered the closing remarks.

The orientation aimed to provide incoming students with a comprehensive understanding of the college's academic policies, student support services, institutional values, and professional expectations, ensuring a smooth transition into university life and preparing them for future careers in criminal justice.
