The Negros Oriental State University Academic Convocation was held today, August 25, 2026, in celebration of ASEAN and the World Student Congress 2026. The event was highlighted by three international speakers from BINUS University, Indonesia.

Dr. Yanti S. Kom, MM, a Senior Academic Development and Accreditation Specialist, discussed “Employability in the ASEAN Context: Preparing Graduates for a Dynamic Region.” Meanwhile, Dr. Tiurida Lily Anita, Research Coordinator for Hotel Management, discussed “Research as a Bridge: Fostering Cross-Cultural Collaboration in ASEAN.” Finally, Dr. Aryanti Wardaya Puspokusumo, BSc, MBM, CPLM, Head of Internationalization and Partnership, tackled “Building Bridges: Collaboration Potential in Hotel and Tourism Management, Entrepreneurship, and Culinary Innovation in Indonesia.”

Following the three sessions with the prominent speakers, an open forum was conducted. The speakers emphasized the importance of students venturing beyond their comfort zones, opening themselves to opportunities, and seeking mentors who can equip them with the necessary skills and help them build valuable networks.

The convocation was formally closed by Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, Dr. Cesar P. Estrope.
