NORSU’s Creative Works Unit conducted the second day of its Binisaya and Multilingual Writing Workshop on August 25, 2026, featuring a poetry primer on Voice and Imagery to strengthen participants’ creative writing skills.

Negros Oriental State University (NORSU), through the Creative Works Unit of the Research, Development, and Extension Office, conducted the second day of its Binisaya and Multilingual Writing Workshop on August 25, 2026, focusing on the workshop’s poetry primer on Voice and Imagery.

The workshop brought together faculty members from the Department of English and Literature and the Social Sciences and Communication Department from various NORSU campuses to enhance their skills in writing original poetry, particularly in Binisaya and multilingual writing.

The activity featured poetry readings followed by a critique session, providing participants with an opportunity to present their works and receive constructive feedback.

The session was facilitated by Merlie M. Alunan, Professor Emeritus of the University of the Philippines Tacloban and a nationally and internationally multi-awarded Filipina poet, teacher and mentor, and cultural worker in the Visayas.

Prof. Alunan also accommodated a book-signing session for the participants.
